DREAM DRAW COULD OPEN UP CHALLENGE CUP FINAL PASSAGE

The recent draw for the quarter and semi finals of the Finest Carmats South Region Challenge cup saw lady luck smiling on Talbot after they were given a home tie against the winners of third division Glasgow United and first division Rob Roy. If the Bot managed to triumph in this tricky tie they would be at home to Gretna 2008, Hill O’ Beath or Civil Service Strollers.

Pundits have labelled this half of the draw on the weaker side as in the other portion, East Region leaders Musselburgh are awaiting an away tie with Arthurlie or Clydebank, while Lowland League leaders East Kilbride entertain Cumnock with the winners being rewarded with a home tie in the semi’s.

WOSL PUT OUT NEW TALBOT FIXTURES TO HELP BACKLOG

With the recent wipe out of WOSL league fixtures the association has changed a number of matches to accommodate teams that would be facing a blank Saturday going into February. Talbot will now face Darvel on the 1st of February at Recreation Park at 2pm, and then Glenafton Athletic at Beechwood on the 5th of February with a 7.30 k/o.

It is hoped that milder weather will alleviate the fixture back up and we will be a bit more clearer on the cup matches.
