It always nice to welcome football royalty to Beechwood Park and this was the case on Saturday when Kyle Lafferty visited as a current Johnstone Burgh player. Kyle is an ex Northern Ireland international who has had a glittering career including playing for Rangers (twice), Hearts and Kilmarnock.

Injury kept Kyle out of the match, but he was happy to mingle with Talbot supporters before and after the match including this photograph with Johnny, Sammy & Derek Eaglesham who were part of the group who sponsored from Mauchline Bowling Club.

Talbot Thanks

Auchinleck Talbot wish to thank everyone who sponsored our West of Scotland League Match against Johnstone Burgh. For the second week in a row, four players shared the five man of the match awards during a solid team performance in which, despite numerous efforts, we couldn’t get the goal to secure a victory.

If you would like to sponsor future matches either as a business, a family celebration or just a great day out with friends, contact Colin Chisholm 07929 831057 for details of packages available.

Thanks to Craig McGhee for photographs.

NEILL HITS THE BIG 300

When Neill McPherson takes to the field on Saturday at Darvel it will be his 300th appearance for the club. The skipper joined Talbot in 2016 as a raw youngster from none other than Darvel and it’s a fitting tribute that the big man should celebrate 300 appearances at the club where he began his career.

He follows in the footsteps of Andy Leishman, Dennis Gray and a number of the 1949 squad like Alex Scott.

Let’s let the big man know how much we appreciate his service to the club when he takes to the field.
