Talbot are on the road again after the first round proper was drawn live at Hampden by Team GB’s Jack Carlin on Sunday afternoon. This time we travel to face Lowland League side Albion Rovers on the 28th of September at Cliftonville. The Rovers currently sit 12th in their division losing three out of their seven starts to former Junior sides Linlithgow, Broxburn and Bo’ness.
At the moment the “Wee Rovers” are managed by former Rangers and Hearts striker Sandy Clark and his assistant Michael Paton who can list Aberdeen as one of his former clubs.
Clark took over in March 2023 but couldn’t halt Rovers misfortune as they were relegated after losing the play-offs against Spartans. In his first full season they finished 9th in the league 35 points off the eventual winners East Kilbride, this season his side are still mid-table and had a disappointing 3-3 home draw against third bottom Gala Fairydean last week.
The draw concerning other WOSL sides is: Brora Rangers v Cumnock, Buckie Thistle v Carluke Rovers, Mussleburgh v Darvel, Burntisland v Irvine Meadow, Clydebank v Girvan and Cowdenbeath v Rutherglen Glencairn.
