Talbot will be hoping to keep their unbeaten home record in the Challenge Cup intact this Saturday as East Region Premier League leaders Jeanfield Swifts visit Beechwood.
Since their inception into this competition the “Bot” still have to lose a game at Beechwood and with a place in the next round up for grabs this could be a cracker of a match. The Perth club currently sit at the top of their division with a point lead over Mussleburgh and kept the pressure up with a decent 4-0 win at Dundonald Bluebell
The Swifts have played at Beechwood before back in the 80’s and 90’s in the Scottish Junior Cup, losing both matches, so hopefully it won’t be third time lucky for the lads from Riverside Stadium.
There has been some epic battles in this competition over the season’s with wins at home against East Kilbride and Caley Braves in the past to name a couple.
The Swifts will be our fourth match this season against East of Scotland league opposition and undoubtedly our toughest test so far. We have already accounted for two of the East clubs in this competition and apart from our 3-0 defeat at Broxburn last season we have a terrific record over the EOSL sides including the cup final win over Bonnyrigg.
The game has a 2pm kick off with admission £9 for adults, £6 for concessions, children under 16 free if accompanied by a paying adult.
