TALBOT AIM TO RETAIN WEST CUP AS POLLOK COME TO TOWN
This Saturday Talbot have the chance to reach their first cup final as they go head to head with Glasgow cracks Pollok FC at Beechwood Park in the hope they can retain the Indigo Comms West of Scotland League Cup which they won 2-0 last season after defeating Clydebank.
Pollok come to Auchinleck on the back of a 2-1 win over Hurlford United last Saturday and have hit a bit of form with a 1-1 draw against Beith and 4-2 and 3-0 wins over Darvel and Hurlford in the league. This will be Tucker and Maxie’s first cup joust since the former Rob Roy manager took over at Newlandsfield in November 2022
A lot of Pollok’s success this season is down to 30 goal striker Adam Forde who has been a revelation in a side that has sometimes failed to produce. The 28 year old former Stranraer striker who joined Pollok from Kilbirnie in 2017 is one that will need to be watched.
A large crowd is expected for the match so make sure your down early.
The winners of today’s tie will play either Shotts or Darvel who face-off at Hannah Park this afternoon.

Man Of the Match Awards:
No fewer than ten Man of the Match awards were presented; what a stunning achievement that is for a club at our level. Aidan Glavin picked up five of the awards on a day when both goalkeepers put on a great show. Neill McPherson received two awards with Scott Schoneville, Neil Slooves and Ali Boyle sharing the others.
The Wheatsheaf Auld Crocks award was picked up by Neill McPherson and presented by Dod Grierson who is the current Captain of St. Cuthberts Golf Club.
The Auchinleck Outdoor Bowling Club award was presented by newly elected president Tam Griffin and was won by Scott Schoneville.
Campbell Peden made the presentation for Unison (Show Racism The Red Card) with Neil Slooves picking up the award.
The Wick Talbot Supporters Club award was won Aidan Glavin and presented by Alan Oakton.
The Billy Blackmore award was won by Aidan Glavin and presented by Billy himself.
The Robil Driving School award was presented by Roberta Noble and won by Neill McPherson.
