TALBOT BOYS CLUB NEWS.

TALBOT BOYS CLUB NEWS.

2001 – Irvine Meadow 4 Auchinleck Talbot 6.
An outstanding performance displayed at the weekend by the Talbot boys. Everyone knew this was going to be a hard and physical game but from the minute the match kicked off Talbot were up for the challenge showing strength and determination and superb football skills. Another 3 points wee earned. Goals came from Jamie Conn -1 Taylor Kerr -2 Justin Barr -3. Man of the match went to Lewis Bell.

2003 – No game.

2005 – Auchinleck Talbot 2005s were at home this week at Auchinleck Academy to face Valspar United. Talbot instantly put on the pressure as soon as the ref blew his whistle for the start off the game with Valspar holding out in defence and the keeper pulling out some good saves. This didn’t last for long and Talbot had their breakthrough with Taylor Fowler opening the scoring with a well worked team goal with some great passing from defence through to attack. The pressure continued and Cody Gibson put Talbot two goals up then Calum Wilson made it three just before halftime. The confidence was high and Talbot couldn’t wait to get the second half started. Valspar tried to get back into the game but the Talbot defence was too strong and there were a couple of great saves from keeper Jack Scott. Talbot again put on the pressure with Taylor Fowler scoring a brilliant solo goal then Cody Gibson scored to put the game beyond Valspar United. This was a very good performance from Talbot 2005s… well done boys from the coaching team!!.

2006 – Only one game for the 2006’s on Saturday at Grange Academy against Dreghorn. The boys were fantastic from start to finish and the football being played for boys their age was exceptional. Teamwork, passing and moving and great goals was a joy to watch. Every boy deserves praise this week. Two goals from Russell Hendry and a hat-trick from Mason McNeillie wrapped up a very good day for the 2006’s.

2007 – Game for the boys against Dean Colts on Saturday at Auchinleck Academy. They started really well and kept the opposition on the back foot, creating a good few chances and working really hard. As the first half went on though, a lot of the boys started losing concentration and the effort started to slip a bit. This continued in the second half which let Dean into the game. There were some decent moves today, with just bad luck at times. Effort and attitude continues to be an issue for some of the boys though, not all of them. Hard work always beats talent, when talent doesn’t work hard. Special mention this week goes to Joe Savage for some good touches on the ball, and a decent attitude.

2008 – The boys played against Greenan, Dean Thistle x2 and Shortlees on Sunday at Caledonian Parks. The boys played really well in their first three games. Their passing was good and they kept their shape well with only the finishing touch missing on occasion.
Good defending and playing from the back as well. The last game v Shortlees, the boys got overrun a bit but had the chances to win the game but we’re competitive which was encouraging.

2009 – The boys were playing in the fun fours on Sunday. They’re coming along nicely and making improvements each week. They’re enjoying their football. Man o the match this week was Finlay McRoberts for his determination, constant movement, passing & goals.

Talbot Boys Clubs

2003 – Knockroon 2 Talbot 0. Two avoidable goals on Saturday. An own goal and a slack kick gave them the win. Talbot had a good few chances from distance that didn’t quite do the damage. The first 10 mins of the first half and last 20 mins second half was played mostly with Talbot attacking which was good. The defence was solid at times aswell. The midfield need to start playing the ball quicker and sharper but the effort shown thtoughout the game was excellent. Talbot had only lost 1 game in 6 before this game so still positives and it’s not the end of the world. We go again next week at home to Rowallan.

2005 – This week was a local derby against Cumnock at Auchinleck. This was a highly anticipate game as previous games had been close but played in a friendly manner. Cumnock got off to a great start by scoring four quick goals within 20 minutes of play and were dominating the game, it looked at this stage as if the score line was going to resemble a cricket score than a football score. However, Auchinleck were tactile and dug in and started to get back into the game with Cody Gibson scoring two goals to make it 4-2 to Cumnock at half time. In the second half Cumnock scored two goals early on and it looked as if the game was beyond Talbot at this stage, but again they dug in and pulled two goals back through Cody Gibson and Ewen MacMillan. A few near misses and some great saves from the Cumnock keeper and Talbot could have turned the game around but in the last minute Cumnock got a free kick from outside the penalty area which was slammed into the back of the net. Yet again this game was played in great spirit with the players and parents a credit to their clubs well done both teams!!

2007 – Game against Caley Utd this on Saturday at Auchinleck Academy. Good performances from all the boys. They played really well and gave lots of effort which was most pleasing. They showed great composure on the ball and apart from the odd occasion they moved it quite quickly, especially in the final third. This created a lot of really good chances. There was some cracking moves at times. Defensively we were mostly solid today, and the forward passing was great. That’s the level of commitment they should be showing all the time. Special mentions go to Paul Torrance for some good reaction saves and coming off his line well, and to Jayden Donnelly for good positioning and tackling.

Talbot Boys football

TALBOT BOYS CLUB NEWS.

2001 – Hurlford United 1 Auchinleck Talbot 6. Another 3 points again on Saturday, although Talbot got off to a slow start. They upped their game and dominated the majority of the match, a lot of chances were created for more goals but well done to the United keeper. goals came from Lewis Hood -1 Scott Whalen -2 Justin Barr -3 man of the match went to Justin Barr.

2003 – No game.

2005 – This week Talbot were away to Dean Thistle in Kilmarnock. Unlike last week Talbot were the team that came out fighting right from the start with some lovely passing football. This was rewarded with a well worked goal and a great pass from Taylor Fowler which split the defense for Calum Wilson to rifle a shot past the despairing Dean Thistle keeper. Talbot continued to play some great football but against the run of play Thistle scored an equaliser. This took Talbot by surprise and just before half time Thistle took the lead. Talbot started the second half with loads of energy and pressed the Dean Thistle defense with their keeper pulling off some great saves. Talbots tenacity payed off when Cody Gibson scored the equaliser. The two teams were so well matched with play going from one attack to the other. Both defenses were holding up well until Dean Thistle had a break through and scored to win the game. Both sets of parents complemented both teams in how well they played and enjoyed a pulsating and entertaining game. Well done both teams.

2006 – Both Boswell and Tigers were away to Grange Academy, Kilmarnock on Saturday to play Bellfield. Both teams played really well against tough opposition and the boys efforts and determination showed throughout. Again we were short of numbers and the boys didn’t get a rest but nobody complained. Goals from Lewis McFadzean, Callum Holmes and two goals
from Kiain Robb. We are looking to add one or two experienced boys to our squad. Contact [email protected] for further information/trial.

2007 – The boys played against Cumnock on Saturday at Auchinleck Academy. It was a cracking game of football with decent spells of play from both sides. Effort was good and they showed great composure on the ball at times. They lost their shape slightly as the match went on however that was more tiredness than anything else. There was good movement off the ball but the final pass needs to improve from us as their awareness needs to be better. It was a pleasing display though, with a special mention for Braydan Gooden for his positioning and bringing the ball out from the back.

2008 – Both teams played at Caley parks against three Ayr Boswell teams and Greenan. A mixed bag from the boys this week. There was some good forward play and they were trying to play football the right way but sometimes they were caught out of position when defending which the boys have been improving on recently. When it all clicks the football is a joy to watch.

2009 – The boys were at Irvine playing this week in some glorious sunshine and what a day it turned out to be. All of the boys are really starting to click together and some nice football being played. A good few goals being scored by both teams. Murray McRoberts being singled out this week for his willingness to go in there where it might hurt and ensuring goals come from this. Well done boys.
