TALBOT TRAVEL TO FACE SOUTH OF SCOTLAND WIGTON & BLADNOCH.

Talbot were handed a decent draw in the Scottish Cup when they were paired with Wigton & Bladnoch in the second preliminary round draw on Wednesday evening. Talbot will travel to Trammondford Park on the 2nd of September to face a side who finished bottom of the South of Scotland League last season shipping 101 league goals which included an 18-0 loss to Mid-Annandale.

Talbot are no strangers to Trammondford Park visiting the ground on the 13th August 2016 where they won a lackluster match 4-0 thanks to doubles by Mark Shankland and Stephen Wilson, before exiting in the next round to Beith Juniors.

The clubs met again five years ago on the 1st September 2018 at Beechwood with Talbot recording a 10-0 win which proved to be the biggest Scottish Cup win of that particular season. Talbot that season had the historical 1-0 win over Ayr United before bowing out at the 5th round stage losing 4-0 to Hearts at Tynecastle.

What’s remarkable about the Wigton result was the fact that Steven White actually scored in this match. Both games can be watched by clicking on the Talbot website and trawling the seasons on the match drop down.
